Most days, traffic in Los Angeles is obnoxious. Today was no exception. To pass the time I downloaded an audio book Do The Work by Steven Pressfield.
First off, I’m almost always excited to hear the author reading his own book. I say ‘almost’ because there are those rare occasions where the author makes listening very difficult (Start Something That Matters is one example where author Blake Mycoskie totally ruined it for me – good thing Blake is a brilliant entrepreneur).
Do The Work will show you that it’s not about better ideas, it’s about actually doing the work. Do the Work is a weapon against Resistance – a tool that will help you take action and successfully ship projects out the door.
“There is an enemy. There is an intelligent, active, malign force working against us. Step one is to recognize this. This recognition alone is enormously powerful. It saved my life, and it will save yours.”
The more I listened to Do The Work the more I found myself motivated to finish one of my many half-done projects. If you are like me and have no issue with starting projects, but mid-way through resistance forces you to question your idea/work, then I recommend you read this book.
The audio version is a quick 1hr 25min (not long enough in LA’s traffic) and an inspirational read/listen
