Entries Flood in for MySchoolAct

by Glenn Matthews on November 27, 2009

At midnight last night (Friday, Sydney time) MySchoolAct closed entries to its inaugural season. The final week saw a rush of entries, making a very difficult task for senior staff to choose the two wild cards.

Our Managing Director, Cameron Elkins and Business Development Manager, James Smith did a fantastic job attracting acts and running the whole competition. Well done gents!

Sony Music chipped in to help promote MySchoolAct, providing interviews with Amy Meredith, Amy Pearson and The Cassette Kids. Even Guy Sebastian gave us a shout out from a studio in Los Angeles. Check out the video below.

Keep your eyes on the site for the announcement of the top 10. Our Top 10 finalists will head to Sydney for an exclusive 3 day workshop with the best brains (and ears) in the business. Instrument experts, vocal coaches and industry specialists will help fine tune our Top 10 before they hit Studio 301, one of the most renowned studios in the country, and record their first demo.

thanks Glenn for using your business skills to provide this great opportunity for young musicians to get a start in the music industry. Having attended the first 2 days of the top 10 workshop with my sons' band- I am greatly impressed with what you're doing and i think the concept will really take off next year and beyond. Regards Paul Minett

Paul, thank you for your kind words. Watching all of the bands grow throughout the workshop was really exciting. I'm was very impressed in the way everyone participated and the outcome made all of the hard work well worth it.
